The focus of this piece was supposed to be more on the waves, but I do love those little guys. I probably should have made their shadows longer, 'cause they look legless.
I dunno know what all the water-themed stuff's about lately. I don't even live near any (not counting the Great Lakes)
very warm and pretty. love the overall mood. innocent (with those blend of colors especially) and yet so romantic.
you're right, you could've made the shadows longer, especially for their legs. and maybe the highlights on their bodies are a bit too even for that kind of dramatic lighting (given that you wanted to make their shadows longer to create shades for the legs, which means that the light source should be horizontally lower).
The perspective on this image takes a simple picture and makes it interesting. It's very nice. I also love the loose painterly style it give a good sense of movement.
However, I don't like the texture you've added to the waves (brain coral?). To me, it seems to disrupt the flow of the image. I think it'd be just fine without it.
it's a very whimsical and warm painting...:3...although at first glance i didn't realize that the two forms were sandpipers As you said, you should probably add a hint of legs...but the overall effect of the picture is succesful :3

Really prettyful. ^^ I heard Artrage [link] is a great program for digital painting as well.

but as a composition, i love it.

Whatever you do, don't look stupid doing it.

It's a very nice piece either way. Well done!
