I just re-read "Raptor Red" for the first time in years, and felt like doing some art for it. I used to be a huge dino-nut... dunno what happened. This was only about three years ago, too.
I haven't really been keeping up on the new findings and all, but I know that I'll probably catch some flak for not giving the raptor feathers, but fuck it. This is how I see the main character of the book (and is, indeed, how Bakker envisioned her at the time, as well) so whatever.
That is a wonderful book. The first time I read it I got into it just a tad then got bored then started reading it again and I loved <3 Sad what happens to her sister though =/
you know what's really funny, I just picked the book up again yesterday for the first time in..... 6 years? XD this pic is great, you even have the dactyl's green bands
I've got the book maybe five feet away from me ^_^ I've probably read it six times. Feathers or no feathers, who cares- it looks awesome. I kinda like my raptors looking like this. Her brown scratchy coloring's cool.
Let me tell you just how AWESOME you are for doing fanart of Raptor Red! I absolutely adore that book! I've read it twice now- once while I was eleven years old and again just recently. Now I want to buy it so I can read it over and over again at will.
I remember that white dactyl. He's so majestic, and yet so funny at times, too.
Also, let me commend you on the exquisite detail that has obviously been invested into this picture. Very nice drawing you have here. I'm favoriting it right away.

As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.

Is that what love is?
Some stupid cliche'?

I am a proud soldier in the MCRmy
I took their bullets and gave them my love
I cried out for sweet revenge
I marched faithfully in the black parade
I AM NOT afraid to keep on living
and THEY WILL NEVER take me alive
